Flint Machine Tools

K1BL

The K1BL is a specialized, highly rigid Small Hole EDM (Hole Popper) from the Sodick K Series, meticulously designed for precision hole-drilling in difficult or microscopic applications. Its superior performance is driven by the use of Sodick’s Linear Motor Drive on the Z-Axis, a highly responsive servo system that boosts machining speed and reduces electrode wear- enabling the creation of microscopic holes that are often impossible with conventional EDM machines.

The machine’s foundation is a highly rigid, gantry-style structure. This design, where the main column is robustly supported by two columns, eliminates thermal distortion, guaranteeing constant accuracy and stable machining during continuous operation. The K1BL offers ample working capacity, with an X-Travel of 4-72 inches (120 mm), a Y-Travel of 5-91 inches (150 mm), and a Z-Travel of 11-81 inches (300 mm), accommodating electrodes with diameters as small as 0-003 inches up to 0-012 inches. Automation and efficiency are maximized through the standard 18 Piece ATC, which allows for continuous, multi-hole operations without operator intervention. Furthermore, this K Series model includes an Energy Saving Circuit that can reduce average power consumption by up to 60 percent compared to conventional EDM machines.

Description
