Flint Machine Tools

K1C

The K1C is part of Sodick’s specialized K Series of Small Hole EDM machines, engineered for high-speed drilling and precision hole-making. It is the ideal machine for processing challenging materials such as carbide and fully heat-treated workpieces, where conventional drilling methods are inefficient. A key performance feature is the use of Sodick’s patented Vitol machining fluid, which enables significantly faster Electrical Discharge Machining compared to competing small hole machines that rely on water as a dielectric fluid.

Equipped with the Latest Servo Technology and a Micro-Step Servo, the K1C dramatically improves responsiveness and maintains stable machining conditions at all times, achieving machining speeds two times faster than previous models. Operation is made easy with an ergonomically friendly design, featuring the control panel and counter display positioned for operator convenience. Furthermore, the K Series is eco-friendly, incorporating an energy-saving circuit and design that reduces average energy consumption by up to 60 percent. Its capacity includes a work table size of 9.84 inches by 13.78 inches and an electrode diameter range from 0.010 inches up to 0.12 inches (0.25 to 3 mm).

Description

The SODICK K1C Small Hole Popper is a high-speed small hole EDM drill designed for machining difficult-to-cut materials like carbide and heat-treated workpieces. It features Micro-Step Servo technology and an energy-saving circuit that can reduce average energy consumption by up to 60 percent compared to conventional models. The K1C has an X-Y-Z travel of 7.87 inches by 11.81 inches by 11.81 inches and uses Sodick’s patented Vitol machining fluid for faster EDM speeds than water-based machines.
