The HR-120 is a powerhouse in the Fryer HR Series of Horizontal Machining Centers, built specifically to tackle your most demanding, large-scale milling applications. The machine’s foundation is a rugged fixed spindle design with robust box ways, extra-large castings, ballscrews, and bearings that ensure superior accuracy and excellent vibration dampening. This design is key to maintaining tight tolerances and maximizing tool life.

With a massive work envelope, the HR-120 offers travels of 120 inches in the X-axis, 55 or 72 inches in the Y-axis, and 50 inches in the Z-axis. Powering this performance is a high-torque 40 HP spindle motor driving a 6,000 RPM, 50 taper spindle (spindle options up to 10,000 RPM are available). This combination delivers the rigidity and torque required for aggressive material removal.

The HR-120 is designed for high productivity and ease of use, making it excellent for small-lot machining and large-part loading. Standard features can include a 24, 40, or 60 tool arm-type Automatic Tool Changer (ATC), an optional built-in contouring rotary table for multi-side machining, and high-pressure coolant-through-spindle capabilities. The machine is controlled by the user-friendly Fryer-Siemens CNC, which allows for fast set-up, simple menu programming for single-piece runs, and full G-code programming for high production volumes.
