Flint Machine Tools

HR-160

The HR-160 is the largest model in the Fryer HR Series of High Performance Horizontal Mills, offering exceptional capacity and power for the most demanding machining requirements. This machine is defined by its fixed spindle design and utilizes heavy-duty box ways throughout its construction. With a massive travel capacity of 160 inches in the X-axis, 55 or 72 inches in the Y-axis, and 50 inches in the Z-axis, the HR-160 is engineered to handle extra-large components.

Its rigidity and vibration dampening are ensured by extra-large castings, ballscrews, and bearings. The machine delivers robust cutting power through its high-torque 40 HP spindle motor driving a 50-taper spindle at 6,000 RPM (with optional speeds available). Productivity features include an arm-type Automatic Tool Changer with 24, 40, or 60 tool positions, and an optional built-in contouring rotary table for multi-side machining in a single setup. Operation is simplified by the Fryer-Siemens 828-HS CNC control, which supports simple menu programming for single-piece runs and fast setup keys, making the HR-160 an excellent choice for small lot production despite its massive size.
