Scout 320 Bar Feeder

The Edge Scout 320 Bar Feeder is a high-performance, magazine-style automation solution designed to feed bar stock with exceptional precision and reliability into CNC lathes. Engineered to handle a variety of materials- including round, square, and hexagonal bar stock up to 12 feet 5 inches (3800 mm) in length and from 3 mm to 27 mm in diameter. Its core operational efficiency stems from a standard Mitsubishi motion control system and a robust Servo drive, which propels a double pusher system via a quiet-running toothed belt. Crucially, the Scout 320 includes dual anti-vibration devices that stabilize the bar at two critical points between the guide channel and the lathe spindle- allowing shops to maximize their RPM potential and achieve superior surface finish. Changing bar sizes is simplified by quick-change polyurethane guide channels that also provide hydrodynamic support. For specialized applications, a standard synchronization device for Swiss-style lathes electro-magnetically links the bar feeder to the lathe’s Z-axis, ensuring seamless movement and precise stock presentation. Further enhancing automation are features like the self-centering gripper with automatic remnant retraction to a hide-away basket, and an easy-to-use remote control pendant for simplified setup and operation.
