RFC – ROBOTIC FINISHING CELL

The Robotic Finishing Cell (RFC) by Fastems is a flexible- scalable automation system engineered to handle the complex and time-consuming process of deburring and surface finishing for a wide range of parts. The RFC offers high process reliability from the start, significantly reducing non-productive times and freeing up human production capacity for more valuable tasks.

A key feature is the RFC’s use of the tool-to-part deburring principle, where the robot guides the tool to a stationary or moving workpiece. This approach offers maximum flexibility by allowing for an unlimited number of tools, making it perfect for handling a wide mix of parts, including large and heavy workpieces. The cell supports an extensive inventory of tools and accessories, such as electric and pneumatic spindles, FlapGrinder technology, belt sanders, and high-speed electrospindles, all stored in individually loadable tool magazines.

The RFC is controlled by the Manufacturing Management Software (MMS), providing predictive planning, forecasting, and seamless monitoring of the entire finishing process. Whether configured as a stand-alone solution with intuitive cell control or integrated into a Fastems FMS as a value-adding process, the RFC is built on standard modules for short delivery times and is designed to provide greater security for the future with a flexibly scalable tool inventory.
