GT 342

The GT 342 automatic bar feeder sets a high standard for performance, stability, and flexibility in bar-stock turning operations. Engineered for both fixed and sliding headstock lathes, it accommodates bar diameters from 3 to 42 mm and bar lengths from 2670 to 4290 mm depending on configuration.

Thanks to its optimized guiding system and compact, rigid base design, the GT 342 reduces vibration even at high spindle speeds, delivering stable feeding performance for precision machining. The feeder uses sectional guiding channels with a toolless quick-change system — enabling partial diameter changeover in about 2 minutes and full guiding-channel changeover in about 10 minutes.

The bar-feeding mechanism includes a pusher and chain-drive feeding system, a clamping device to secure the bar, and a front rest to stabilize and dampen vibration — features that collectively improve feeding consistency and part quality. For sliding-headstock lathes, an optional headstock synchronization device is available to coordinate the pusher movement with spindle motion, ensuring safe, stable feeding and preventing bar deformation under high-speed rotation.

Operation is user-friendly thanks to a remote control interface and color touchscreen for setting bar diameter, length, feed rates, and other parameters. The design supports efficient long-run production, reducing manual intervention, scrap, and downtime.
