The Fryer ET-30 Large Capacity Turning Center is the foundation model in the ET-LC Series, engineered for heavy-duty, high-rigidity applications that require machining extremely large or long components.

This lathe is perfectly suited for oil field, power generation, and specialized job shop turning where standard toolroom lathes lack the necessary capacity and power. The ET-30 combines immense cutting power with Fryer’s hallmark easy-to-use CNC control, making large capacity, small-batch turning efficient and straightforward.

  • Massive Capacity: Features a standard 30″ swing over the bed. It can be custom configured with various large spindle bore sizes up to 12″ and is available in extremely long bed lengths, with center distances up to 200″ (over 16 feet).
  • Heavy-Duty Power: Equipped with a 30 HP high-torque spindle motor and a precision-built four-speed geared headstock, ensuring maximum rigidity and cutting force is applied even during the deepest cuts on tough materials.
  • Rugged Construction: Built with heavy-duty double Vee way construction and a manual tailstock with a large 6 center, providing best-in-class stability for long and heavy workpieces.
  • Simplified CNC Operation: Features the Fryer/Siemens 828-HS CNC Control, designed for ease of use in low-volume, large-part environments:
    • Full Manual Mode: Operates like a conventional lathe using two handwheels.
    • One-Button Setup: A simplified system allows for quick shop floor programming for one-off parts, including dedicated thread repair cycles.
    • Full CNC Capability: Supports standard G and M code programming, complemented by 3D graphic part verification.
