The SHARP 26-B-Series is a high-capacity, heavy-duty lathe designed for demanding industrial applications. It boasts an impressive 26-inch swing over the bed and an extra-large 4-5-inch spindle bore, the largest available in its size class, giving you more choices for different diameter materials to be machined. The powerful 15 HP motor and D1-11 Camlock spindle nose drive a spindle speed range of 10 to 1-000 RPM across 12 speeds. The low speed of 10 RPM ensures that there is enough torque for heavy cutting and machining of large workpieces.

Durability and precision are built into the machine- its massive 16-inch wide bed is a one-piece Meehanite casting, which effectively dampens vibration and ensures the permanent straightness of the bed ways. All headstock gears are made from Chrome-Moly material, hardened and ground for long-lasting power and accuracy. The spindle itself is supported by a high-precision pair of matched angular contact bearings up front and a rolling bearing at the rear for high accuracy even under heavy cutting conditions. The carriage is coated with TURCITE to minimize bed wear and enhance oil retention. A quick-change gearbox allows for direct selection of inch or metric threads, and a removable gap section increases the swing to 35 inches to accommodate larger, shorter-length workpieces.
