ASM-1612

The VISION WIDE ASM-1612 5-Axis CNC Universal Machining Center is the largest-capacity model within the core ASM Series, engineered for integrated CNC turning and milling operations. It is designed for high-speed, high-acceleration, and synchronized axes machining of large, delicate cylindrical and complex components, with robust applications in aerospace, large molds, and turbine blade manufacturing.

Key Specifications and High Capacity

The ASM-1612 provides an extensive work envelope and superior load capacity while maintaining the series’ high precision:

  • High Precision: Maintains superior static and dynamic accuracy, achieving a positioning accuracy of P0.006 mm and repeatability of Ps0.0055 mm.
  • Thermal Stability: Includes a dedicated spindle thermal compensation system to ensure long-term accuracy, compensating thermal growth up to 0.02 mm during extended machining cycles.

Dynamic Performance and Design

The machine is optimized for fast, precise 5-axis simultaneous motion over its large working area:

  • High Dynamic Axes: Features rapid traverse rates of 40 m/min (X/Y/Z) and high acceleration (up to 0.3G), ensuring minimal non-cutting time for large-scale production.
  • Optimized 5-Axis Head: Equipped with a 45º universal head and rotary shafts with built-in Direct Drive (D.D) motors. This structural optimization ensures the best precision between the tool center point and the B-axis transmission, critical for large, complex components.
  • Integrated Safety and Control: Comes standard with the HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 Controller, dynamic collision monitoring, and a comprehensive central monitoring protection system for the B/C axis and spindle.
