The MB-2516 is a Bridge-type Milling Machine in the MB Series, engineered to combine traditional precision with modern efficiency for challenging milling applications. The machine’s design emphasizes rigid structure and high precision, utilizing full casting components with box ways that are precisely hand scraped and directly lubricated for all three axes. This construction ensures minimal friction and maximum stiffness, which is crucial for cutting vibration dampening and maintaining precise power transmission. The overall structure, featuring a wide base with solid columns and a beam, ensures the best structural stiffness and geometric accuracy throughout the 3-axis travel.

The Z-axis is equipped with a balancing system featuring twin hydraulic cylinders and a pressured nitrogen accumulator, which provides exceptionally smooth and accurate feeding performance while ensuring the balancing force is optimally set. The headstock and gear head transmission are formed in a one-piece casting with the spindle motor positioned symmetrically for high precision and micro smooth movement. The working envelope includes an X-axis travel of 2-500 mm and a Y-axis travel of 1-600 mm on a table dimensioned 2-500 mm by 1-300 mm, capable of handling up to 9-000 kg. The spindle delivers power via a 4-000 RPM two-step gear spindle (standard) driven by a 18-5 – 22 kW motor, and is supported by a side-mounted tool magazine for a compact design and fast tool-to-tool changes in approximately 3 seconds.
