The MN-5023 / MN-5030 models are heavy-duty units in the MN Series of Double Column Milling Machines, specifically designed for machining large-scale components that require 5-face function and multi-angle cutting versatility. The machine’s foundation is a rigid bridge-type structure built for high precision. It employs a proven X-Y roller way structure and a solid beam with a large cross-section, which collectively strengthen the stiffness of the Y-travel. Furthermore, the wide base utilizes 3 roller sliding ways to significantly improve load capacity and dynamic accuracy. The headstock features a strong box structure with 6 guiding roller blocks and an extended Z-travel of up to 1-400 mm to ensure stiffness and minimize interference during complex 5-face operations. The ample work area includes an X-axis travel of 5-100 mm and a Y-axis travel of either 2-300 mm or 3-000 mm, with the table supporting a substantial maximum load of 20-000 kg. Power is supplied by a standard 18-5-22 kW spindle with a 2-step gear achieving 4-000 RPM, and optional direct-driven spindles up to 10-000 RPM are available. Rapid traverse speeds are highly efficient, reaching 24 m-min on the X-axis for faster part positioning.
