The MG830 is a robust and universal Moving Gantry Machining Center from the MG Series, specializing in the precision machining of very large and ultra-heavy workpieces. Its core design emphasizes both speed and accuracy, incorporating roller guides for quick, responsive movement and twin linear scales to ensure exceptional positioning accuracy across its massive travel range. The machine’s work surface measures 315 inches by 110-2 inches (8,000 mm x 2,800 mm), perfectly complementing its long-distance 315-inch X-axis travel (8,000 mm) and 118-inch Y-axis travel (3,000 mm).

The standard Z-axis travel of 39-4 inches can be optionally extended up to 55-2 inches. It is engineered for aggressive machining with a high-torque spindle option, delivering up to 1,115 ft-lb of torque at 5,000 RPM (CAT50 geared-head), alongside high-speed options reaching 20,000 RPM. Accuracy is maintained with a Z-axis linear position accuracy of plus-minus 0-0006 inch and linear repeatability of plus-minus 0-0004 inch. The ergonomic design enhances operability, and the flexibility to add optional heads allows for efficient five-face machining.
