The MG840 is a state-of-the-art MG Series Universal Moving Gantry Machine built to handle ultra-heavy applications while maintaining exceptional precision. Its core design features a stationary work table with a gantry that moves along the length of the workpiece, making it ideal for machining extremely large parts. The machine provides a vast working area defined by its 315-inch x 149-6 inch table and expansive travel of 315 inches in the X-axis and 157-5 inches in the Y-axis. Positioning accuracy is maintained through twin linear scales on all axes, ensuring tight tolerances are met across the entire stroke. Motion is achieved through low-friction roller guides for fast and accurate movement, with rapid feed rates up to 590 inches per minute.

The MG840 offers flexible spindle options to suit diverse material requirements- from a high-torque 5-000 RPM CAT50 geared spindle capable of delivering up to 1-115 ft-lb of torque for heavy ferrous cuts, to high-speed spindles up to 20-000 RPM for non-ferrous materials. The machine’s construction and guiding system are optimized for the per-square-foot load of 1-680 lb-ft², ensuring a stable platform. Furthermore, the machine can be configured with optional heads to gain five-axis machining capabilities, significantly enhancing productivity by reducing setups for complex parts. The machine is ergonomically designed for ease of operability and includes high-standard features such as a 32-tool capacity with an optional 60-tool magazine.
