The MG850 is a precision-engineered, universal Moving Gantry Machine from the MG series, built to handle ultra-heavy applications that demand both massive capacity and high accuracy. Unlike fixed-table bridge machines, the gantry moves along the workpiece, allowing for virtually unlimited flexibility with the table size being 315 inches by 189 inches. The machine is structurally rigid, designed for power and endurance in continuous operation.

Key to its performance are the large axes travels, featuring an impressive 315 inches (8,000 mm) of X-axis travel and 196-8 inches (5,000 mm) of Y-axis travel. The standard Z-axis travel is 39-4 inches, with optional extensions available up to 55-2 inches (1,400 mm). The table is rated to handle a maximum load density of 1,680 lbs per square foot.

For high-precision work, the MG850 utilizes roller guides for quick, smooth movement and twin linear scales to ensure exceptional positioning accuracy across its long travels, with linear repeatability of plus-minus 0-000787 inch. Spindle options are highly flexible to handle materials ranging from ferrous metals to high-temperature alloys, with a powerful low-speed CAT50 gearbox providing up to 1,115 ft-lb of torque at 5,000 RPM, and high-speed options up to 20,000 RPM available. The design is ergonomic for easy operability, and the machine’s capability can be expanded with optional heads for comprehensive five-face machining.
