The SB416 is a robust Double Column Bridge Machining Center from the SB series, designed for manufacturers who require high power, superior accuracy, and flexibility for large-component machining. Its fixed rail construction is optimized for stability, featuring roller guides on its axes and a hydraulic counterbalance system on the headstock to guarantee highly precise, chatter-free cutting even during heavy material removal.

The machine’s work envelope is supported by a large 157-4 inch x 59 inch table with a maximum load capacity of 26,450 lbs and extensive travel, including 159-8 inches in the X-axis and a standard 63 inches in the Y-axis, which can be extended to 90-5 inches with the YM configuration for enhanced five-face machining. The Z-axis offers a standard 31-5 inches of travel (800 mm) with an optional increase up to 39-4 inches.

The SB416 is highly configurable to suit different materials. For rigorous ferrous metal applications, a high-torque 5,000 RPM- 40 HP-35 HP CAT50 gearbox provides up to 1,115 ft-lb of torque. For high-speed non-ferrous applications, spindle options reach up to 20,000 RPM. All axes benefit from swift 945 inches per minute rapid feed rates, ensuring quick cycle times. With 32 tools standard (and options up to 120 tools), and high precision specifications like a linear position accuracy of plus-minus 0-0004 inch and linear repeatability of plus-minus 0-0001 inch, the SB416 delivers the power and endurance needed for demanding jobs.
