The VB420 is a large-format Double Column Bridge Vertical Machining Center designed for power and endurance when executing heavy cutting jobs that demand exceptional accuracy.

Part of the VB Series, it is specifically engineered for reliably machining large-scale components in various difficult materials, including ferrous, non-ferrous, and high-temperature alloys. The machine is anchored by a large 161-4 inch by 70-8 inch work table that can handle a substantial 33,000 lb maximum table load (15,000 kg).

Its substantial travels are 158-2 inches in the X-axis (longitudinal) and 78-7 inches in the Y-axis (cross). The Z-axis provides 31-5 inches of vertical travel. Structural integrity is maintained by its double-column bridge design, complemented by roller guides and a hydraulic counterbalance system on the headstock, which collectively ensure stable, precise, and fast cutting. Power comes from a 35 HP-30 HP main spindle with a CAT50 taper, delivering 461 ft-lb of torque and a maximum speed of 6,000 RPM through a gearbox. This combination allows for highly precise and accurate cuts with a linear position accuracy of plus-minus 0-0004 inches and high material removal rates.

It offers a standard 32 tool storage capacity, with an option to expand to 60 tools, ensuring minimal downtime and superior productivity.
