The AG200L represents the pinnacle of large-capacity Electrical Discharge Machining technology. As Sodick’s largest Sinker EDM, this machine is capable of handling workpieces up to 10-000 kg on its 2-500 mm by 1-550 mm table. The core of the AG200L’s performance is the complete suite of in-house-made Sodick technologies. It utilizes flat-rigid Linear Motor Drives for a direct link between the drive and control, ensuring the fastest possible servo response and achieving rapid speeds up to 1-400 inches per minute with high 1-2G acceleration. This system is combined with Ceramic components and the Thermal Commit (TH COM) function to minimize thermal displacement and guarantee positional accuracy. Machining efficiency is maximized by the No-Arc and SVC Circuits. The SVC Circuit can produce a uniform high-grade or mirror surface finish up to four times faster, while the Arc-less circuit significantly reduces electrode wear and cycle time.
