The FRG-400S and FRG-600S are Chevalier’s advanced models of Rotary Surface Grinders built for achieving the highest levels of flatness and finish on a wide range of parts. The key feature of this series is the hydrostatic bearing design of the rotary turntable, which supports the worktable on a uniform oil film. This design provides higher rotational precision and superior vibration resistance compared to conventional bearings, which is critical for demanding grinding applications.

The grinding spindle is engineered for performance, supported by six Class 7 (P4), ultra-precision angular contact ball bearings that enable the machine to withstand heavy-duty grinding while maintaining accuracy. The machine features an Adaptive finish program that automatically adjusts table rotation, infeed speed, and grinding wheel speed to ensure a better surface finish. Precision is further maximized by the inclusion of In-machine Dynamic Balancing, which allows operators to adjust the grinding wheel balance to limit vibration to less than 1 um. Controlled via the SMART iControl system, the machines feature an optimized structure for maximum rigidity and utilize linear guideways and ballscrews combined with a servo motor on the wheelhead elevation and transmission mechanisms for precise movement. The FRG-400S has a 400 mm table and 150 kg load capacity, while the larger FRG-600S boasts a 600 mm table and a maximum table load of 400 kg.
