The Clausing CSG2460ASDIII Automatic Precision Surface Grinder is a heavy-duty machine built for the highly accurate grinding of large workpieces. Its formidable construction features a wide, deep base and a honeycomb ribbed column, all made from high-quality, ribbed, cast iron to ensure superior rigidity, stability, and vibration dampening during intense operations. The advanced ASDIII digital control system simplifies complex grinding cycles via a simple digital display and touch control panel. This system allows the operator to precisely program multiple parameters, including the vertical zero point, rough grinding volume, finish grinding volume, downfeed volume for finish grinding, target point, and the grinding wheel rise-up point.

The grinding head’s movement is highly precise. The vertical feed uses dual motors, consisting of an AC motor for rapid up-down positioning and a stepping motor for micro downfeed positioning, slow auto downfeed, and slow up-down at increments as fine as 000004 inches. The powerful 10 HP spindle motor rotates the large 16-inch diameter wheel at 1750 RPM. Cross transverse travel is accurately controlled by a DC servo motor, which facilitates both step feed and continuous infeed grinding with adjustable wheel dressing speed.

For guaranteed long-term precision and minimal wear, the machine incorporates High Grade Anti-Wear Slideways. The saddle rests on precision, hand-scraped double V ways, and an automatic continuous lubrication system ensures all slideways and screws are fully oiled. The maximum grinding length is 615 inches with a maximum distance of 283 inches from the spindle to the table.
