The Chevalier FBL-540 is a heavy-duty horizontal turning lathe featuring a 45-degree slant-bed structure with a one-piece Meehanite® casting and torque tube design, providing high rigidity, excellent vibration damping, and resistance to deflection during heavy machining. It has a maximum turning diameter of 880 mm (34.64 inches) over the bed and a maximum turning length of 4,000 mm (157.48 inches). The machine supports a maximum bar diameter of 165 mm (6.49 inches) and is equipped with a spindle nose of A2-15, a spindle hole diameter of 196 mm (7.71 inches), and a spindle speed of 1,000 rpm. The FBL-540 MC model includes a live tooling function, enabling multi-axis milling and turning, including off-centerline Y-axis milling with a ±2.17” range, which enhances its capability for complex part production.
