The LS-800 L15 is part of the JTEKT Takisawa Taiwan LS Series of heavy-duty horizontal lathes, designed to achieve maximum production and flexibility when machining large components. Its foundational strength lies in its super-duty boxway construction and a fine-ground precision gearbox that work in tandem to maintain high cutting torque and ensure an accurate surface finish across the full range of workpieces. The machine’s large capacity is highlighted by its 32.6-inch (830 mm) maximum workpiece swing and an impressive 63-inch (1,600 mm) maximum turning length, supported by a 15-inch (381 mm) chuck size.

Powering the LS-800 L15 is a robust main spindle motor providing 35 HP (26 kW) for 30 minutes of operation and 30 HP (22 kW) continuous, driving the spindle up to 2,000 RPM. This configuration, combined with its high rigidity, makes the machine ideal for precision turning of challenging materials, including ferrous steel, non-ferrous aluminum, and high-temp alloys such as Titanium and Stainless Steel. The machine is engineered for versatility, with 15.3-inch (390 mm) X-axis travel and 64.9-inch (1,650 mm) Z-axis travel, and is available in variants such as the LS-800 MA L15 (turning center with milling capabilities) for greater processing consolidation.
