The GEN TURN 52-GTS from the GEN TURN Series is a high-performance 6-Axis CNC Dual Gang-Tooled Lathe designed to maximize throughput for complex parts up to 52 mm (2-047 inches) in diameter. This machine utilizes a configuration with twin 15 HP, 6-000 RPM opposed spindles that facilitate true simultaneous main and sub-spindle machining, effectively eliminating secondary operations and maximizing cycle time efficiency. The machine’s core flexibility is provided by dual parallel gang-tooled cross-slides, which allow for dedicated and quick tool access to both the main and sub-spindles. Both the main and sub-spindles are equipped with C-Axis functionality to support extensive live tooling options for milling, drilling, and tapping operations, greatly expanding the machine’s capability beyond turning. Power is delivered by 11 kW (15 HP) main and sub-spindle motors with an included spindle motor chiller, and the axis movement features rapid travels of 1-181 inches per minute (30 m-min) on the X and Z axes, driven by Mitsubishi Mel-Pro Motors and Drives.
