FBL-500

The FBL-500 Series from CHEVALIER represents a line of Heavy-Duty Horizontal Turning Lathes engineered for robust performance and precision. The machine’s foundation is a 45-degree slant-bed structure with a low center of gravity, which provides easy access for the operator and workpiece changeovers while promoting superior chip evacuation. The structure utilizes Box Ways that are designed into a Torque tube design to withstand greater stress without deforming and to provide maximum vibration damping during demanding, heavy machining cuts. Further enhancing stability is the ribbed Meehanite® casting, which delivers strong support and excellent damping absorption.

This series features a Big Bore capability, with a spindle hole diameter of 7.5 inches and a spindle nose of A2-15, capable of a maximum speed of 1,000 rpm. Power is supplied by a spindle motor of up to 60HP, ensuring sufficient force for nearly all cutting conditions. The FBL-500 is available in various configurations, including L models (Long bed design), which provide cutting lengths up to 157.5 inches (4,000 mm). Furthermore, the MC models (Machining Center) are equipped with the live tooling function, offering additional flexible machining capabilities to process more complex workpieces– including milling and drilling- all in a single setup.
