The GT 112 bar feeder is built to take the hassle out of feeding small-diameter bar stock into sliding-headstock turning machines — ideal for high-volume, unattended, or lights-out production. The feeder accommodates bar diameters from 0.8 mm to 11 mm, with support to 12.7 mm when bar preparation is applied.
At the core of its design is a dual U-shaped guiding channel system with a patented sectional guiding-channel cover, paired with a self-centering bar-clamping system. This combination ensures the bar stays securely guided through the channel across the full diameter range, even at high RPM, preventing vibration or misfeeds.
Loading is handled via a single-pitch screw magazine with a spiral rack, which neatly separates very small bars — the magazine tray can hold up to 30 bars of 7 mm diameter or under, or 15 bars over 7 mm.
Setup and operation are intuitive: the hand-held touch-screen remote control (HMI) lets the operator input bar diameter, feed-out length, and guiding element diameter — the system then automatically sets pushing torque, feed speed, and feeding length for optimal performance. Setup time is minimal — often two minutes or less.
For synchronization and safety, the GT 112 includes electro-mechanical headstock synchronization to coordinate bar feeding with the lathe headstock motion, and a joint-pipe spindle reduction system that fully contains the bar, eliminating the need for spindle liners and improving reliability.
Optionally, a Z-axis retraction system (400 mm) can be added to allow easy maintenance access when no guide bushing is used.
Overall, the GT 112 combines compact footprint, precise and secure guiding, automatic loading and feeding, and ease of use, making it a strong choice for shops that run sliding-headstock lathes with small-diameter bar stock and need reliable, automated feeding for long runs or lights-out operation.
