The hardened and ground main spindle is engineered for heavy-duty precision cutting, utilizing a 3-point bearing support with taper roller bearings. The spindle nose is a D1-8 Camlock type with a substantial 4.09-inch spindle bore. Power is supplied by a 10 HP main motor, driving a timing belt system that offers 12 spindle speeds ranging from 13 to 1200 RPM, complete with a foot brake for safety. The machine’s bedways and cross slide ways are hardened and precision-ground for extended life and consistent accuracy. The gearbox provides 16 feed changes, with a longitudinal feed range of 0.0012 to 0.039 inches per revolution and a cross feed range of 0.0004 to 0.0117 inches per revolution. The lathe offers a comprehensive threading range from 2 to 72 TPI for inch threads and 0.2 to 14 mm for metric pitches. Standard equipment includes a 4-way tool post fitted to a T-slotted compound, a 10-inch steady rest with roller jaws, a full-length splash guard, and a coolant system. Distance between centers is available in multiple lengths, including 35 inches, 60 inches, 90 inches, 120 inches, and 160 inches.
