The HG-40 is Kingston’s top-tier manual oil country lathe built for extreme heavy-duty machining applications. It is engineered with a massive and heavily ribbed straight bed to provide superior rigidity and stability when working with large or heavy workpieces. The heart of the machine is its enormous 147-inch spindle bore, which is the largest offered in Kingston’s manual lathe series, making it perfect for oil pipe threading and other big-bore jobs. The main spindle is made of hardened and ground alloy steel and supported by two extra-heavy-duty precision taper roller bearings capable of handling significant thrust and radial loads. The 20 HP main drive motor with a Mitsubishi inverter and hydraulic brake system provides 16 spindle speeds ranging from 5 to 300 RPM, ensuring high torque for heavy cuts and large diameter turning. Standard features include a double-chuck ready A2-20 spindle nose, 4-way rapid traverse, a two-speed drive tailstock quill, and hardened and ground bedways. Available in various lengths between centers, the HG-40 is the maximal effort machine for power, big-bore capacity, and high-volume heavy fabrication.
