KMT 4V

The Kingston KMT 4V Vertical Mill is engineered for precision and heavy-duty use, built on a foundation of rugged Meehanite casting. A key feature of the 4V model is the upgrade to Hardened and Ground Square Ways in both the Y and Z axes, offering greater rigidity and support compared to dovetail way,s making it ideal for heavier cutting applications. The knee and table ways are also hardened and ground for exceptional longevity.

The machine features a spacious 10-inch by 50-inch table with a longitudinal travel of 36 inches and an increased cross travel of 175 inches. To minimize friction and ensure smooth movement, the X and Y axis sliding surfaces are coated with Turcite B. A heavy-duty saddle support runs the full width of the table for extra stability.

The milling head is powered by a 3 HP motor with an R8 taper and offers infinitely variable spindle speeds from 60 to 4200 RPM. Accuracy is paramount with the spindle containing Class 7 precision bearings, which guarantee a maximum runout of less than 0002 inches. The chromed quill offers 50 inches of travel with three automatic downfeed rates: 0015, 003, and 006 inches per revolution. Standard equipment includes a one-shot lubrication system, a backlash eliminator on the X and Y axes, and dual locks on the knee table saddle and ram. The KMT 4V weighs approximately 3300 lbs, demonstrating its robust build quality.
