The lathe boasts an impressive 80-inch swing over the bedways and can handle workpieces of extreme lengths, with distance between centers ranging from 60 inches to a substantial 315 inches.
The machine’s structure ensures maximum rigidity and long-lasting accuracy. It is built upon a massive one-piece casting machine base that is fully ribbed to prevent distortion even under heavy cutting conditions. The oversized 32-inch wide bed features induction hardened and ground ways, including an additional third bed way on the front to provide extra support to the carriage during heavy operations. The robust headstock is supported by a three-point system, utilizing one ball bearing and two tapered roller bearings, and can accommodate optional double chucks for holding extra-long and large work pieces. Standard spindle bore is 6 inches, with larger optional bores available at 9, 12, and 15 inches. The fully enclosed quick-change gearbox simplifies threading operations, allowing for easy change of a wide range of inch, metric, MP, and DP threads without exchanging gears. Power is supplied by a 30 HP spindle motor, with 40 HP and 50 HP options available for even more demanding tasks.
