The Sharp 30-B-Series is a robust and dependable CNC precision flat-bed lathe, engineered for shops that require significant capacity and power for turning large components. This model is characterized by its 30-inch swing over the bed and a 4-5 inch spindle bore, which is the largest spindle in this size of lathes, offering maximum flexibility for machining different material diameters. The lathe’s foundation is a one-piece Meehanite cast bed that is 15-75 inches wide for superior stability, dampening vibration, and ensuring permanent straightness of the bed ways.

Powering the 30-B-Series is a robust 15 HP motor, which drives the D1-11 Camlock spindle nose. The geared headstock provides 12 speeds across a range of 10 to 1-000 RPM, with the low 10 RPM speed providing enough torque for heavy cutting of challenging materials. All headstock gears are hardened and ground from Chrome-Moly material to ensure long-lasting power and accuracy. High-precision matched angular contact bearings support the front of the headstock, maintaining high accuracy even under heavy loads. The carriage is coated with TURCITE for minimal bed wear and better oil retention, enhancing longevity. For oversized parts, the removable gap increases the maximum swing to 39 inches. It also offers a quick-change gearbox with direct selection for both inch (2-56 TPI) and metric (P0-5-14) threads.
