The Sharp 1440V is a precision engine lathe built for simple and easy operation, ideal for light to medium work. It features a 14-inch swing over the bed and a 40-inch distance between centers. The headstock is equipped with a digital variable speed DVS drive system providing spindle speeds from 30 to 2200 RPM, and is designed with a high-low gear lever for better torque in the lower speed range. Key features for precision and longevity include a D1-4 Camlock spindle with a 15-inch bore hardened and ground spindle and hardened and ground Chrome-Moly gears mounted on tapered roller bearings. The forced lubrication system ensures optimal performance for the gears and shafts. For versatile machining, the lathe includes a gap bed allowing for a 20-inch swing over the gap for larger diameter workpieces near the headstock. All gears and shafts are lubricated by a forced lubrication system. The machine accepts a single-phase power supply, which is ideal for smaller shops and is available with a fixed price package that includes a 2-axis digital readout system and other accessories.
