The Sharp 1118H is a high speed high precision Toolroom Lathe perfectly suited for machining small components and intricate threading operations with fast turnaround times. It features an 11 inch swing over the bed and an 18 inch distance between centers. The 5 HP main motor drives a spindle with a digital variable speed system ranging from 50 to 4000 RPM. The spindle is supported by high precision preloaded matched angular contact bearings ensuring a long lasting accuracy of 0000050 inch TIR.

The machine includes independent electric feed rate control for the carriage and cross slide which are driven by a separate half HP DC motor for reliability and flexible motion. The carriage travels on Turcite B coated surfaces over hardened and ground dovetail bedways for reduced wear and excellent oil retention. Threading operations are simplified by a quick change inch metric gearbox with 36 changes and a quick action compound slide for fast retracts. A standard lever type quick action 5C collet closure is mounted at the back of the spindle for easy part holding and releasing.
