The KMA-2 is a robust Bed Type Vertical Milling Machine constructed with fully ribbed castings and hardened and ground box ways, providing a rigid structure ideal for heavy cutting and machining of hard metals. The large 18-inch x 75-inch work table offers generous travels of 4725 inches in X and 1768 inches in Y. Unlike knee mills, the fixed quill design allows the entire vertical head to travel up to 2162 inches, enabling deep drilling and boring operations with maximum lateral force resistance. The machine is powered by a high-performance 15 HP motor driving an NST 50 taper spindle, which utilizes a 12-step gear system to achieve speeds from 45 to 1500 RPM for heavy stock removal. Operation is made easy with an eye-level tri-lever handle for smooth manual vertical head movement and 4-way toggle control for table rapid traverse. Other features include a double nut backlash eliminator for sustained accuracy and a built-in coolant tank.
