The LMV-42 Vertical Knee Mill is a robust and highly accurate machine built for close-tolerance work. It features a 9-inch by 42-inch table with 30 inches of longitudinal X-axis travel and 12 inches of cross Y-axis travel. The powerful 3 HP variable speed spindle delivers a range of 60 to 4500 RPM and uses an R-8 taper. Key to its precision is the CNC ground and chromed quill, which achieves near jig bore accuracy and the innovative double nut backlash eliminator design that maintains tight control over the feed screw without sacrificing smooth movement. The mill features hardened and ground ways on all axes with Turcite B coating on the X and Y gibs for superior oil retention and wear resistance. Its patented Knuckle Head design uses a six-bolt system with circular T-slots to prevent head slippage and improve long-term accuracy. Additional features include tapered gibs for easy adjustment, a one-shot lubrication system, and dual clamps on the knee and saddle to prevent skewing.
