The Sharp TMV-1 is a robust Vertical Knee Milling Machine constructed with hardened and ground box ways on the vertical column and base, offering superior stability and extra support under heavy cutting conditions compared to dovetail ways. The machine features a spacious 10-inch by 54-inch work table with a generous 39-inch longitudinal travel and 163-inch cross travel. It is equipped with a high-performance 5 HP motor and an NT-40 spindle taper with variable speeds ranging from 60 to 4500 RPM. For precision, the spindle quill is CNC ground to a mirror finish and hard chromed, resulting in close to jig bore accuracy with a runout of no more than 0002 inches TIR. The TMV-1 incorporates Sharp’s patented Knuckle Head design, which uses a six-bolt locking system to prevent the head from slipping and maintain better accuracy. Other features include a double nut backlash eliminator for precise motion control and an integrated one-shot lubrication system for maintenance convenience.
