The Sharp V-1 is a robust Vertical Knee Mill specifically engineered for heavy-duty cutting applications. Its construction is centered around hardened and ground box ways on the vertical column and the top of the base, which provide exceptional rigidity and support for the work table during aggressive machining. The machine features a spacious 12-inch x 58-inch work table with a longitudinal travel of 40 inches and a cross travel of 16 inches. Power is supplied by a 5 HP motor driving an NT-40 spindle with digital variable speeds ranging from 70 to 4000 RPM, allowing for quick and easy speed adjustments. The V-1 comes standard with a power feed for the table and saddle and a motorized rapid knee for effortless positioning of the workpiece. The top of the saddle is coated with TURCITE B for enhanced oil retention and long-term wear resistance. It also incorporates a patented Knuckle Head design, which uses a six-bolt locking system for superior head stability and a fully automatic lubrication system with back flow valves.
