The GSA-1627 belongs to the GSA Series of Gantry Type Machining Centers, specifically engineered as a 3+2 axis solution for achieving exceptional performance in mold cutting, highly precise contour finishing, milling, drilling, and tapping. Its foundational design is a rigid, one-piece gantry structure that provides outstanding dynamic stability and performance. The key functional component is the IAC-Indexing Attached Head, a high-power, 2-axis head that features auto indexing in 1-degree increments on both the B and C axes. This head is capable of above 40 kW spindle driving capacity and maintains a high tool clamping force of 20kN. By using this indexing attached head, the GSA-1627 effectively achieves 5-axis accuracy performance for composite angle machining, shortening tool displacement travel and extending tool life. The machine offers a sizeable working envelope with an X-axis travel of 1-600 mm and a Y-axis travel of 2-700 mm. Its 15-000 RPM spindle facilitates high-speed, fine-surface cutting. High throughput is supported by a fast traverse speed of 32 m-min on the X and Y axes and a cutting feed rate up to 20-000 mm-min. The machine is controlled by a standard HEIDENHAIN TNC640 controller and includes a spindle and structure temperature thermal compensation system to ensure consistent accuracy.
