Flint Machine Tools

SUPRA 618II

The machine’s construction is built on a high-rigidity casting iron frame, featuring heavy walls and reinforced ribs to provide excellent damping and stability. It includes an enlarged column and base, increasing stability and rigidity while offering an ample distance of up to 19.3 inches from the table surface to the spindle centerline.

For superior grinding performance, the SUPRA 618II is equipped with a high-precision cartridge spindle supported by four preloaded, high-precision angular contact ball bearings and driven by a V3 class motor. The machine ensures long-term accuracy and anti-wear protection for its guideways:

  • The saddle rests on hand-scraped double V ways coated with Turcite-B.
  • The table rests on precision ball rolling ways.

Both guideway systems are equipped with an automatic lubrication system to prevent premature wear and are meticulously hand scraped or hardened and ground to a tolerance of 1/10,000 inch per 12 inches.

For handfeed models, the table movement uses a cable with high tensile steel cores for smooth movement and longevity, and the table handwheel can be indexed to nine positions without backlash for convenient operation. The 618AH II model features a hydraulic table drive.

Description

The ACER SUPRA 618II is a high-precision surface grinder featuring a rigid construction and enhanced capabilities for accurate grinding performance.
  • HIGH PRECISION CARTRIDGE SPINDLE: A high-precision cartridge-type spindle is supported by 4 high-precision preloaded angular contact ball bearings and is driven by a V3 class motor that allows high-accuracy grinding performance.
  • HIGH ANTI-WEAR GUIDE WAYS: The saddle rests on precision hand-scraped double V Turcite-B ways; the table rests on precision ball rolling ways. These guide ways are equipped with an auto lubrication system to resist premature wear, and they are hand scraped or hardened & ground to 1/10,000″ per 12″.
  • HIGH RIGID CASTING CONSTRUCTION: Machines are cast with high-grade casting iron with heavy walls and reinforced ribs to provide excellent rigidity and damping.
  • ENLARGED COLUMN AND BASE: An enlarged column and base create high stability and rigidity. The height of the column is increased to 19.3″ from the table surface to the center line of the spindle.
  • TABLE DRIVE: For hand-feed models, the table drive makes use of a cable that encloses high-tensile steel cores that ensure smoother table movement and longevity. The table handwheel can be indexed to 9 different positions without backlash for more convenient operation. (618AH II has a hydraulic table.)
