A key to the machines’ stability and accuracy is their foundation, which features fully ribbed machine castings made from dense, high-grade Meehanite cast iron. This heavy construction minimizes vibration and ensures consistent performance. The table travels on a one-V, one flat guideway system for smooth, stable movement.

Precision motion control is achieved through a precision ball screw driven by an AC digital servo motor and controlled by a Mitsubishi PLC with touch screen operation. At the heart of the grinding capability is the wheel head, which utilizes a friction-free hydrostatic spindle bearing to guarantee exceptional accuracy and surface finish quality. The entire grinding process is streamlined into an automated cycle that includes rough grinding, fine grinding, and spark-out in one continuous sequence. For operator convenience, the wheelhead retracts to a park-unload point once the cycle is complete. The series offers various models with maximum external grinding capacities up to 300 mm or 400 mm, and distances between centers ranging from 400 mm up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in.), making it versatile for small and large cylindrical workpieces. The tailstock center is designed to absorb thermal expansion of the workpiece- further ensuring sustained precision during long grinding runs.
