The Clausing CSG2480ASDIII Automatic Precision Surface Grinder is designed for ultra-large capacity and high-volume, high-accuracy grinding tasks. Its construction is exceptionally rigid, featuring a wide, deep base and a honeycomb ribbed column, all made from high-quality, ribbed, cast iron. This heavy-duty design, with a net weight of 29700 pounds, ensures maximum stability, vibration dampening, and sustained precision.

The machine incorporates the advanced ASDIII digital control system, accessible through a clear digital display and touch control panel. This simple interface allows operators to easily program and display key grinding parameters, including the vertical zero point, rough grinding volume, finish grinding volume, target point, and the grinding wheel rise-up point.

Grinding power comes from a robust 10 HP spindle motor operating at 1750 RPM. Vertical motion is highly accurate, controlled by dual motors: an AC motor for rapid up-down positioning and a stepping motor for micro downfeed positioning, slow auto downfeed, and slow up-down at increments as fine as 000004 inches. Longitudinal movement is controlled by a presettable hydraulic table speed control, allowing for consistent speed rates, while the cross transverse travel uses a ballscrew powered by a DC servo motor for both step feed and continuous infeed grinding.

For exceptional durability and precision retention, the machine features High Grade Anti-Wear Slideways. The saddle rides on precision, hand-scraped double V ways, and the table moves on precision hand-scraped V and flat ways coated with Turcite B. An automatic continuous lubrication system minimizes wear on all slideways and screws. The machine offers a massive maximum grinding length of 81 inches with a maximum distance of 285 inches from the spindle to the table.
