The GC32M-63 by JTEKT Toyoda is a high-speed CNC Camshaft Grinding Machine built for precision and efficiency in automotive manufacturing applications.
The GC32 series is engineered for high-performance camshaft grinding and is fully CBN capable. This machine incorporates JTEKT’s legacy grinding technologies to ensure high accuracy and long-term reliability. At the heart of the machine is the patented TOYODA STAT BEARING, a hybrid hydrostatic and hydrodynamic spindle technology that eliminates metal-to-metal contact, preventing wear and ensuring superior rotational accuracy. The machine also features a floating plate system.
Designed for high-throughput production, the GC32M-63 achieves an extremely high maximum wheel surface speed of 160 meters per second. For precise and responsive operation, the machine utilizes a Linear Motor for its wheelhead infeed slide, which moves on a hydrostatic slide way, enabling a rapid feed rate of 60 meters per minute on diameter. This advanced motion system is key to its high-speed performance and precise control.
The machine is capable of handling workpieces up to 630 millimeters in length. It features a live spindle workhead with C-Axis capability and an NC quill for high-accuracy rotational adjustments. The hydraulic footstock also has NC repositioning capabilities, allowing various workpiece lengths and configurations to be accommodated without time-consuming changeovers. Operators control the machine through the reliable and user-friendly Toyoda GC50 CNC Control, which is a Windows PC-based MMI.
