TERA 40V

The TERA 40V, part of the powerful TERA series from MICRO DYNAMICS, is a robust Vertical Machining Center engineered to deliver high-speed and highly precise results for demanding manufacturers. Built with an FC300 Meehanite casting and an FEA-optimized ribbed structure, it guarantees exceptional machining stability and rigidity. Despite its generous working envelope of 40 inches by 28 inches by 25 inches (X, Y, Z travel), the machine boasts a minimal footprint of just 123.5 inches by 97.6 inches, optimizing floor space efficiency.

The performance core of the TERA 40V is its 40-taper built-in spindle, which delivers 41 hp and a speed of 15,000 rpm (with options up to 20,000 rpm), enabling high material removal rates. This is demonstrated by its capability to achieve 50.9 in/min during drilling in 1050 Steel. Non-cutting time is significantly minimized by rapid feed rates of up to 2,047 ipm on the X and Y axes and a High Speed Automatic Tool Changer with an incredibly fast 1.2-second tool-to-tool change time. Accuracy is maintained even through long cycles using the proprietary DYPEC Dynamic Predictive Error Compensation system, which actively corrects thermal position errors. The machine is controlled by a MITSUBISHI M830VW High Speed CNC Control paired with the intuitive MICRO DYNAMICS HMI for easy operation and setup.
