The Dynamic-1740G High Speed Precision Engine Lathe is engineered for superior turning performance, combining a robust structure with high-precision mechanics. Its foundational support comes from a massive 3-500 lb machine bed cast from FC-30 iron, featuring a Triangular Ribbed Bed design that is annealed to prevent deformation. The bedways are induction hardened and ground to a hardness of Rockwell C 55 degrees for long-lasting accuracy and extended operational life. The machine is driven by a powerful drip-proof 7-5 HP motor which provides consistent torque for a wide range of materials.

The headstock is constructed from high tensile cast iron and uses a three point support system on the spindle to handle heavy cutting operations with unmatched rigidity and minimum runout. Machining operations are simplified by a uniquely designed gear box that offers a comprehensive range of inch and metric threads without requiring the operator to change gears, boosting efficiency. To ensure smooth and precise movement, the saddle is coated with Turcite-B and includes a saddle lock device for maximum stability during turning. Furthermore, an electro-trochoid pump forces lubrication oil to all headstock running parts and the longitudinal lead screw is oil-bathed for improved durability and reduced maintenance. The large tailstock features a 2-1-4 inch diameter quill which is hardened and ground for accuracy.
