The machine rests on a massive, triangular ribbed bed made from heavy FC-30 cast iron, which undergoes an annealing process to ensure no deformation occurs on the slideways and overall structure. The bedways are hardened and ground to Rockwell C 55° for long-lasting accuracy. The machine is driven by a robust, drip-proof 7-5 HP spindle motor and utilizes a headstock with a three-point support system for the spindle, which is key to maintaining stability during heavy cuts. The specially designed quick-change gearbox provides a comprehensive and easily accessible range of both inch and metric threads, as well as Modular Pitch and Diametral Pitch threads, without the need for manual gear exchange. Operator features include a saddle coated with Turcite-B for smooth, low-friction movement and extreme wear resistance, a saddle lock device for stability during facing, and a multi-position length stop. Lubrication is provided to the headstock by an electro-trochoid pump, and both the cross and longitudinal lead screws are oil bathed. Safety features include a power disconnecting limit switch and a safety pin on the gearbox output shaft.
