The Acer Dynamic-2140GH is engineered as a high-speed, high-precision engine lathe, designed for reliable and accurate general turning operations. The machine provides a generous working envelope with a 21-25 inch maximum swing over the bed and a standard 39-37 inch distance between centers (other center distances available up to 120 inches). Its foundation is a 13-77 inch wide bed constructed from hardened and ground Meehanite casting, which, along with hardened and ground bedways, ensures long-lasting accuracy and excellent stability during heavy cuts.

The powerful 10 HP spindle motor drives the D1-8 camlock spindle, which features a 3-34 inch bore. The headstock employs hardened and ground chromium molybdenum steel gears and offers 18 spindle speeds spanning a broad range from a low 25 RPM up to 1,545 RPM. The spindle and all running gears are protected by a forced lubrication system. Threading capabilities are simplified by a quick-change gearbox with direct selection for a comprehensive range of threads, including Inch (4-56 TPI), Metric (0-5-7 mm pitch), Modular Pitch, and Diametral Pitch threads. Precision is further enhanced by the tailstock, which has a robust 2-95 inch diameter quill and an MT 5 center taper.
