The Dynamic-2480G Precision Engine Lathe is an industrial-grade machine designed for reliable, accurate, and high-speed turning. It is constructed with a massive FC-30 casting iron bed weighing 7,810 lbs to ensure maximum stability and vibration dampening. For sustained accuracy, the wide bedways are hardened and ground to Rockwell C 55 degrees. The lathe is driven by a 15 HP drip-proof spindle motor and features a 12-speed headstock with speeds ranging from 25 to 1,200 RPM. Shifting is made efficient and controlled by magnetic multiple-disc clutches and a magnetic foot-pedal disc brake.

For heavy-duty operation, the carriage includes a saddle-lock device for heavy cutting and utilizes precision-ground cross-slideways. Operator convenience is enhanced by rapid four-directional travel, an oil-bathed longitudinal lead screw, a handwheel with direct inch-metric reading micro-collar, and an electro-trochoid pump for forced lubrication to all running parts outside the headstock. Safety features include a safety ring on an outside gear to prevent damage and a safety-clutched longitudinal lead screw.
