The Dynamic-2980G High Speed Precision Engine Lathe is an exceptional machine designed for durability and superior performance in rigorous industrial environments. Powering this precision tool is a drip-proof 15 HP spindle motor complemented by 12 precise speed settings ranging from 25 to 1,200 RPM.

The machine is constructed on a massive, heavy-duty base of FC-30 casting iron, contributing to its substantial weight of 8,310 lbs and ensuring maximum stability and vibration dampening. For long-term accuracy, the bedways are hardened and ground to Rockwell C 55 degrees. Key operational features include magnetic multiple-disc clutches in the headstock for smooth spindle operation and reversal, a magnetic disc brake with a foot pedal for rapid spindle control, and a saddle-lock device for heavy cutting. Lubrication is handled by an electro-trochoid pump that forces oil to all running parts outside the headstock, which is monitored by an oil flood indicator.

Further enhancements include an ampere meter for monitoring power consumption, a manual jog button, and a multi-position length stop for repetitive work. The lathe is equipped with a safety clutch, oil-bathed longitudinal lead screw with 4 TPI, and also features precision-ground cross-slideways and rapid four-directional travel. A removable chip pan and a forward-stop-reverse lever with a safety device complete the design for safe and efficient operation.
