The GTD-44HK is a super heavy duty geared head engine lathe built for rigorous machining of large diameter components. It offers an impressive 44 inch swing over the bed and an ultra wide 32 inch bed width ensuring exceptional rigidity. The machine’s headstock is powered by a robust 40 HP spindle motor driving 16 gears for speeds ranging from 4 to 420 RPM providing high torque for heavy cuts. The standard 6 inch spindle bore is massive with options up to 15 inches to handle the largest bar stock. The lathe features hardened and ground gears and Turcite coated bed ways for precision and durability. It can safely support a workpiece weighing up to 19800 pounds when held with a chuck tailstock and steadyrest. For ease of operation the tailstock body and quill are driven by a push button electric motor. The machine also offers a wide range of thread cutting capabilities including inch metric diametral pitch and module pitches.
