The Sharp 6060M is a high-performance manual lathe from the M24-60 Series, engineered for machining extremely large and long workpieces with precision and power. It features an impressive 60-inch swing over the bed and is designed with oil field and large-scale industrial applications in mind. The machine’s stability is guaranteed by its foundation, a massive one-piece casting machine base that is heavily ribbed to minimize vibration and prevent distortion under demanding, heavy cutting. The oversized 24-inch wide bedways are induction hardened and precision ground for long-lasting accuracy, complemented by an additional third bed way for extra carriage support.

The heavy-duty headstock is driven by a powerful 30 HP spindle motor (with larger HP options available) and is designed for stability with three-point bearing support—one ball bearing and two tapered roller bearings—across the full length of the spindle shaft. The hollow spindle is ideal for through-spindle work, featuring a standard 6-inch bore and available in large bore options of 9-inch, 12-inch, and 15-inch. The fully enclosed quick-change gearbox simplifies operation, allowing the easy selection of a vast array of Inch, Metric, Modular Pitch (MP), and Diametral Pitch (DP) threads without requiring gear exchanges. The robust tailstock features a 4.92-inch quill diameter and can be optionally upgraded to a motorized quill feed and power drive unit for enhanced convenience on these large models.
