The Sharp 8080M-32 belongs to the M32-80 Series of Extra Large Swing lathes, representing the ultimate capacity manual turning machine designed for the largest and heaviest workpieces. This machine is ideal for large pipe work, oil field operations, and big valve manufacturing. Its structure is built on a massive, one-piece cast bed that is heavily ribbed to ensure superior rigidity and vibration dampening under the deepest cuts. The machine features robust 32-inch wide induction hardened and ground ways, further enhanced by an additional third bed way to provide maximum carriage support.

Power is delivered by a standard 30 HP main motor with larger horsepower options available. The headstock is precision-engineered, utilizing three-point bearing support and gears made from hardened and ground alloy steel for high accuracy and long-term durability. The defining characteristic is the hollow spindle, which comes standard with a 6-inch bore and can be optioned up to a substantial 15 inches for accommodating massive bar stock. The headstock provides 16 speed steps ranging from a very slow 4 RPM up to 420 RPM, delivering immense torque for heavy machining. A fully enclosed quick-change gearbox allows for simplified selection of a wide array of thread types, including Inch, Metric, Modular Pitch, and Diametral Pitch threads.
